Kratom

Mitragyna speciosa, from which kratom is later made, is a tropical tree up to 25 meters tall that originates from Southeast Asia, where it is still native today. Its leaves contain a chemical substance called mitragynine, which can have similar effects on the human body to opioids or stimulants, for example. In addition to the aforementioned mitragynine, this tree also contains other active indole alkaloids, in particular 7-hydroxymitragynine.

Kratom itself is a Thai-derived name for the dried leaves of Mitragyna speciosa, which have been used for hundreds of years in traditional Asian medicine as a plant that helps to increase alertness and provide energy. It can therefore simply be said to be a centuries-old stimulant for better performance. Although kratom has long been used as an herbal supplement, in recent years it has also been used in Western civilization to treat withdrawal symptoms from drug addiction or to combat coughs, pain, depression or anxiety. However, there are still no studies that 100% confirm this effect of kratom.
