Growing instructions for Big Mac
Choose the growing location
Big Mac is suitable for both indoor and outdoor cultivation. Indoors you have full control over light, temperature and humidity, while outdoors it prefers a warm, sunny climate with plenty of direct sunlight.
Prepare the soil
Use a well-aerated, nutrient-rich soil with a pH value between 6.0 and 7.0. Organic additives such as worm compost or bat guano can also promote growth.
Sow the seeds or plant the seedlings
Allow the seeds to germinate in moist kitchen paper or water until the first roots are visible. Then plant them 1-2 cm deep in the prepared soil.
Ensure the right light conditions
Big Mac needs plenty of light for optimum growth. LED or HPS lamps with an 18/6-hour light cycle in the growth phase and 12/12 in the flowering phase are ideal indoors. Outdoors, the plant should receive at least 8 hours of direct sunlight per day.
Monitor temperature and humidity
Keep the temperature between 20-26°C during the day and not below 18°C at night. Humidity should be kept at 50-60% during the growth phase and 40-50% during the flowering phase to prevent mould growth.
Water regularly
Water the plants evenly, but avoid waterlogging. Wait until the top layer of soil is dry before watering again. Use filtered or pH-neutral water if possible.
Optimise the nutrient supply
During the growth phase, Big Mac needs nitrogen-rich fertilisers. In the flowering phase, you should reduce the nitrogen and increase the supply of phosphorus and potassium to promote flower formation.
Train the plants (optional)
Use low-stress training (LST) or other techniques to control growth and maximise yields. This distributes the light evenly across all the flowers.
Pay attention to the flowering time
Big Mac has a flowering time of around 8-9 weeks. Check the trichomes with a magnifying glass - if they are milky white, the optimum harvest time has been reached.
Harvest and dry the flowers
Carefully cut the flowers and hang them up in a well-ventilated, dark room with a humidity of around 50 %. After 7-14 days, they are ready for curing to develop their full flavour.
